The Consortium

6G-HOLONET brings together 18 partners from across 7 countries: Belgium, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. They form a deliberately balanced mix of the expertise types the project demands.

The technical and industrial core, Digital Catapult, Accelleran, Vicinity, LiveU, and TNO brings hands-on experience in 5G/6G network architecture, edge computing, AI-native orchestration, and media delivery at scale. They build and validate the infrastructure that makes everything else possible. Alongside them, four leading academic institutions, the National Technical University of Athens, the University of Bristol, the Technical University of Crete, and TNO, provide the scientific rigor needed to validate results, advance standardization, and ensure findings hold up beyond the project lifetime. The consortium holds active representation in the bodies that shape the future of 6G: 3GPP, ETSI, O-RAN Alliance, CAMARA, and DVB.

What sets 6G-HOLONET apart from a purely technical program is the depth of its creative and cultural sector involvement. Nephelie Technologies, Effenaar, ICOM Belgium, the European Fashion Heritage Association, and the Greek National Opera bring the real-world workflows, end-user relationships, and sector knowledge that keep the project grounded in genuine need, not hypothetical use cases. Their participation means trials happen in live venues, working museums, and active cultural institutions, not controlled laboratory environments.

Finally, Sound and TWIST ensure that what gets built can be sustained and scaled commercially. With expertise in business modelling, exploitation strategy, and stakeholder community building, they translate technical achievements into routes to market and make sure the impact of 6G-HOLONET outlasts the project itself.

Together, the consortium covers the full chain: from fundamental research and network development, through real-world deployment and user validation, to commercial exploitation and policy impact. Every objective has a lead. Every lead has the track record to deliver it.
